Invitation

It is with great pleasure we invite your participation in our Australian Logistics Council Forum held at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth on 28 – 30 March 2012.
Held over two days, the Australian Logistics Council Forum 2012 will focus on positioning Australia in global supply chains whilst continuing to address the large and growing national freight task. The Forum will also provide an opportunity for the industry to showcase the latest technology, products and services.
As an example, the national freight task in 2010 was 500 billion tonne freight kilometres. This is estimated to increase to 1000 billion tonne freight kilometres in 2030 and 1400 billion tonne freight kilometres in 2050.
ALC is the peak national body representing the major and national companies participating in the Australian freight transport and logistics supply chain. ALC is now the only industry-funded body in Australia focusing specifically on ensuring our national supply chains are safe, secure, efficient, reliable, sustainable and internationally competitive.
The Australian Logistics Council Forum is ALC’s premier annual event and will be one of the biggest gatherings of senior leaders of the industry for 2012. Over 300 of the industry’s most respected and influential leaders, policymakers and decision makers will meet at the ALC Forum to discuss and debate the top priorities and issues facing the industry.
The Forum attracts strong media coverage, with speakers at last year’s Forum including Anthony Albanese, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, CEO’s and senior executives of Australia’s leading freight logistics companies, as well as key figures from regulatory and government bodies.
Governments are increasingly looking for a view that reflects the depth of the freight transport and logistics industry and the efficiency of the total supply chain. The Australian Logistics Council Forum 2012 provides an invaluable opportunity for industry to come together to discuss and articulate the views that all governments need to hear and act upon.
The Australian Logistics Council Forum 2012 is organised by and for Australia’s freight transport and logistics industry; if you are involved, you need to be there.
We look forward to seeing you at the Forum in March.
Yours sincerely,
Don Telford, Michael Kilgariff,
ALC Chairman ALC Chief Executive
